Theo shuffled some papers around one last time, then flipped open a new book on Greek history. It had just come in this morning, and as much as he wanted to read it, he also had office hours to stick by. So there he sat, wearing a nice wool sweater with a snowflake pattern, reading and wondering who would drop by for help today. It wasn't that he hated office hours - far from it. It was a chance for him to interact with his students outside the classroom, to get to know them better and judge who might become famous historians one day. Not that there was a good chance of that happening, but he could dream, right?
The man smiled to himself as he delved into the book, soaking in the details of what he was reading. He loved all history, but Greek history had a special place in his heart, for it was the homeland of his parents and by extension, his home as well. Looking away from the page at the thought, he reached for the mug of coffee on his desk and took a sip. Things weren't going too well in Greece at the moment, but he was sure they would pull through eventually. As the home to an ancient civilization which had influenced humanity greatly, Greece couldn't afford to wither and die. At least, that was his thought on the matter.
Theo then winced at the idea of death. Like everyone else, he had heard the increased rumours of ghosts appearing around a school. He didn't know quite what to think of it, but he hoped that whichever student decided to visit him was alive and breathing, not dead and looking for revenge of some sort. Glancing at his watch and wondering if anyone would show, the teacher shrugged and returned to his book. History, unlike a ghost, was harmless.
