He never had to know the pains of having to work for his lodging, or the patience coming with delay. He’s kept mostly happy at all costs, which is why Skyggen is a naturally cheerful boy. He’s innocent of the cruel ways of the world, so he’s quite aloof and disinterested in things that he deems too MISCHIEVOUS; All work and no play makes Skyggen a dull boy. Although it’s fairly obvious that this silver-haired frosh is bright, he usually uses his quick thinking for making trouble. He loves pranking people, and only thinks about the consequences afterwards (or, rather, how to avoid it). Though Skyggen would never seriously harm others, there are times when his fun is at the cost of someone else’s misery. DRIVEN; All play and no work makes Skyggen a mere toy. Being the only heir to his father’s company, Skyggen has to constantly prove himself worthy – but this doesn’t simply stem out from the expectations set by the people around him. Skyggen wants to make his father proud, even though the man is more of an enigma to him for he’s often busy at work. Whenever he’s home, Skyggen frequently felt his disappointment for his son. To compensate for something that’s not his fault, Skyggen devotes himself to the tasks his father gives him. At the moment, it’s to think up new designs and prototypes, and Skyggen’s not a slacker in that area, oftentimes not sleeping or eating regularly for a few days when he’s immersed in a project. SWEETAHOLIC; Here’s another unhealthy habit. Skyggen is a sugar junky. He’s a firm believer that all the sugar is helping his brain process things, since he cannot afford to slow down. In the middle of homework (actually, any sort of work that involves complex thinking), Skyggen’s diet would be comprised of mostly chocolates. But it wouldn’t be rare to see him eating other food. He’s a growing boy, and his appetite is insatiable. INTROVERTED&&INSENSITIVE; (Not to say that Skyggen is dreadfully shy.) Although Skyggen has no trouble in speaking up in front of a room full of strangers, his social problem is more because he can’t keep his mouth shut. He’s never good with people, often being too cheeky and nosy in their business. Plus, Skyggen’s an asshole in progress: he’s starting to be self-centered, but not to the point that he would begin attacking other people for the sake of his self-esteem. LOYAL; Skyggen knows how hard he is to handle. Which is why, whenever someone puts up with him long enough in spite of his obvious flaws, Skyggen feels a direct emotional attachment to them and considers them his friend. Because people like that don’t just fall out of the sky, he tries to tone down his loud personality around them, and would do anything for them, so long as they don’t leave him. MATERIALISTIC; When you think about it, being the only child of a wealthy family that’s so accustomed to excess would be spoiled and materialistic. It’s expected. In his childhood, whatever Skyggen wants, Skyggen gets. The moment he wants something, he expects it to be in his custody immediately. Denying his requests would cause him to attempt his own methods to gain it on his own, fueled by frustration. His father had also used things to recompense for his neglect, so Skyggen has come to equate things with happiness. Skyggen Tommelise was not an exception to this. At a tender age, he already knew what it was like to not have a father. Figuratively, of course. Frederick Tommelise was well and healthy even to this day, although his business tended to get in the way of his family - or maybe he just prioritized it more, Skyggen wasn't sure. Either way, his son came second to his wife, who seemed to come second to his international toy company. Skyggen's early memories were composed by Adaline occasionally singing him to bed, and by Frederick periodically reprimanding him for being so rowdy. But mostly, his memories were about Lucia, his nanny. As the company grew, Frederick became more devoted to his business. It was what kept them alive, and he was doing it for the betterment of his son's future. Sadly, said son couldn't see the big picture, and he always thought that there was something wrong with himself for not being able to hold his father's attention for more than a few hours. Adaline began to spend more time with Skyggen, her maternal instincts probably screaming at her for neglecting her young boy. Despite this, Skyggen was a daddy's boy; chasing after the one that's always leaving. When he was nine years old, Skyggen showed promise and potential at continuing the family business. He spent a lot of time with toys that took the place of actual people, enough that his curiosity got the better of him and he began tinkering with them. Out of boredom, Skyggen tried to invent toys. Some worked, some didn't - the latter outweighed the former, but his mother was still proud. Apparently, it wasn't enough for Frederick. As if he wanted to make up for the traits that Skyggen lacked, he employed a private tutor for him to teach him languages. Inwardly, Frederick was embarrassed that he needed a translator, and thought that it would be best for Skyggen to know as much as he can to communicate freely with possible investors in the future. Skyggen thought he was writing him off and was looking for another prospective job for him and, okay, he was hurt, but at least he was paying attention. Now, boarding school was something that came out of the blue. In Japan, no less! Skyggen was adamant at being sent away. "I function perfectly well here!" he had yelled in one of his rare, verbal tantrums, silently wishing that Mother understood he could do whatever Father wanted him to do in Hokkaido as excellent as he could two doors down the hall. To Frederick, keeping Skyggen low-profile from the Danish public was to launch a refreshing surprise at them once his time to shine came. Until then, Skyggen would keep sending prototypes and designs from chishika boys' academy, just to practice his skills and make sure he didn't lose his touch.
