define your meaning of war
to me it's what we do when we're bored
to me it's what we do when we're bored
It was 12:30, time for lunch. Which meant everyone in the school was about to crowd into the cafeteria to refresh the energy drained from them by the morning classes. Zeus liked lunch, primarily because he liked food and was grateful for any reason to not be in classes - but the excess amount of people just always got on his nerves.
He usually hung back a bit from the crowd, leaning against a wall and waiting for the lines to the food disappeared before heading over. He could go off-campus to eat, of course, if he really wanted too. But he wasn't really interested in the trouble it would take to find something reasonable to eat, and greasy fast foods from the quick, nearby places didn't agree with him. He was actually a pretty healthy eater.
That left him with some time on his hands, and the time spend pushing through the crowds of boys smaller than him could only buy him a few moments of entertainment. Man did he hate being bored. When he didn't have anything to do, he really just felt like dead weight, and that made him want to do something about it. More specifically, it made him want to hurt someone. And not just anyone. He was feeling more than a little restless today, and he really needed someone to let some of his excess energy out on. The tiny breakable boys that made up most of the population just wouldn't cut it.
As he was making his way through the crowd (most of which gave him a pretty wide berth) he spotted someone who just might. He'd met the senior boy before (and seen him a few times) in detention, and they'd gotten off to a rocky start. It had been pretty great actually, but Zeus thought he was probably the only one who thought so.
But whether or not the senior appreciated the competitive flair of their previous scuffle was not really Zeus' concern. He didn't care. What he cared about was that he needed something to be unleashed on, and there hadn't actually been a 'winner' between them. It was obvious to Zeus what he had to do, and he made up his mind before he could even begin to walk towards the other man. Initiation came easy to him.
The senior had already received his food, and without bothering to look at what it was, Zeus swiftly and violently knocked it out of his hands. Subtly really, really wasn't his thing. The loud clatter of the fallen objects made quite a few people stop what they were doing and look over. "Oops." Zeus said, in a deadpan way what wasn't sarcastic sounding, but definitely wasn't sorry, because he wasn't.
He doubted something that dramatic was even necessary to rile the other boy up (he'd come to the conclusion already that he was as easily pissed off as he himself was), but Zeus liked being more direct and to the point: Round Two. Now.
