The cut was a thin, leaky line off to the side, and when he swept his tongue over it, Rin was treated to blood's coppery flavor. Sensei had bit him, there and elsewhere. He was sure, underneath the gakuran, he had a less-than-healthy collection of purple bruises dotting their way down from his neck. Like some pornographic roadmap. Badges of honor, the signs of a job well done, whatever. The throbbing imperfections had to be something along those lines when just thinking about them made Rin feel good, as if some ungodly weight had been lifted and he could finally breathe. Although, given their prevalence, it hurt to walk. Even the pressure of his satchel's strap against his shoulder set off his nerves, and they screamed bloody murder. That dull pain was partially why, as Rin backed out from his client's office, he kept the leather strap in his hand, a sort of buffer. In truth, the whole thing--from the location to the lingering hurt--was a giant routine, and he knew that just around the corner he could step into one of the school's lavatories to wash up before beginning the long trek home. He'd done it so often, it was second nature, and he looked forward to a cold splash against his face, to popping a pill that would ease his tenderness. In the dead of night, the precious schoolboys were always locked safely into their dorms. The halls, always bathed in the moon's silver and surreally empty. The whole damn world might as well have been asleep and ensnared by sugar-sweet dreams. So Rin worried naught as he took his time to silently reseal the door with a happy hum. Only after spinning on his heel did he bother to look up and ahead. At which point, he started. He blanched and choked on the musical note. In contrast, the sudden someone simply stood in the hall's center, silhouetted by moonlight. Like a bastard Grim Reaper, he was just there, and Rin couldn't even pretend he hadn't been seen. Trying to sneak back inside, maybe hide away in a closet until the situation had been taken care of, well, that wasn't an option. In spite of the darkness encompassing this man's face, he was positive that he was in the line of vision. Eye contact had been made, and the seconds of dumbstruck silence were ticking away fast. They ticked faster than Rin could think, or remember that he was masquerading in a "borrowed" uniform. Shit, there were a thousand reasons for a stupid student to be out at night. Duh!Yet the pause had stretched just a little too long. "Uhm. Well..." From the door handle, Rin's hand lifted to his mouth in a loose fist. He coughed to clear his throat. Business was at stake, and solely to forewarn the man behind the door, his explanation rang louder than necessary, "I found my bag!" He gritted his teeth in a nervous smile, biting back the bodily ache as he recovered his posture. Then, tilting his head away from the respective shoulder, he held up the satchel's tawny strap, just a little to showcase the item. It didn't matter that the bag was full of the most salacious paraphernalia, or that--if this person was at all familiar with the students--he'd stick out as sorely as his busted lip. Who cared if the guy had been standing there for the whole hour and listened dumbly to wet, breathy moans? To Rin, it didn't even matter that he looked too old to have a sophomore's roman numerals stuck to his top. (It'd been the only unused uniform that suited his petite build, and he was sure regretting it now.) No, all these flaws and others had to be kicked to the back of his mind and forgotten as he chuckled to himself. The ruse would be milked, however scant its basis. "I'd best get started on tonight's homework, huh?" It was about one in the morning, thus a little late for a kid to start much of anything. He'd hoped that the weak humor would distract the man just enough, as quietly, he inched away from the office door. He kept to the wall as he made to edge his way around and escape. As of yet Touya had not met a faculty member who didn’t dislike the graveyard shift. Basically it meant that you had to stay up till late at night and make sure that no students were fooling around somewhere in the academy or that trespassers entered the academy grounds after the academy had been locked off and closed. Touya had frequently heard his co-workers complain about this tedious duty, yet Touya did not share their feelings. Actually this was currently one of the best options he had for going on an adventure! You might ask what might be so exciting about the academy after dark, but that would simply mean that you lacked imagination. It was a time for ghost hunting. Yes ghosts like the ones the students used try to scare each other with by telling the stories of their deaths and why they ended up haunting the academy in the first place.
On an eerie night like this where the light of the full moon shone ominously from its position high in the sky, ghosts were sure to appear. Touya’s gut was telling him that. As the pale beams shone through the large windows in the corridors they also caused the shadows to become longer and darker as funny as that might sound. He had no other light that the moonlight to go by, no actually in the beginning he had a flashlight to help him find is way (though it was hardly needed with the moon shining as brightly as it was) but he had broken it already when he first entered the academy hall, looking brave and cunning like a true Indiana Jones before falling flat on his face. The act had caused the flashlight to be hurled across the floor then spin as it hit the floor before finally crashing into the wall, the cone from the spinning flashlight blinking a couple of times before finally going out. He had tried to fix it afterwards of course, yet without bringing the right tools with him there was little he could actually do. The fixing would have to be done when his shift was over and he returned home.
The flashlight accident had not stolen his courage, however. Losing his flashlight wouldn’t have stopped Indiana Jones and it surely wasn’t about to stop Touya either. He had a task ahead of him and he intended to fulfill it to the best of his abilities. Unfortunately for Touya, however, the night had still to reveal any sight of ghosts and the academy had remained as dull at night as anyone might have expected.
Letting out a soft tired yawn, Touya continued to walk down the corridor while studying the movement of his shadow quite interestedly. Maybe those shadows were actually the source of the ghost stories? If that was the case then he had solved the mystery! But if that was true then in order for the ghosts to have been discovered in the first place, then it meant that students had been on the premises at night. He couldn’t afford to slack off. Somehow the thought of it caused him to let out an amused chuckle. Exploring the academy grounds at night would be exactly something he would have done as a student especially if the word ‘forbidden’ had been mentioned in the same context. Maybe if he caught a student here then he should give him advice on how to avoid getting caught in the future? Hmm… dilemma…
As if summoned by his trail of thoughts Touya suddenly spotted a figure leaving one of the teachers’ offices only a few meters in front of him. Spotting the bleached hair and being caught by surprise he almost jumped and called out ‘ghost’ when he noticed the school uniform. Not actually having expected to find any of the students here, Touya blinked a couple of times with his healthy eye before meeting the boy’s startled eyes. He had not expected to be caught that much was sure and being stuck between the decision of doing his duty or helping a partner in crime, Touya curiously arched an eyebrow before finally speaking.
”Sorry but you’re not allowed into the academy grounds right now. But just for curiosity’s sake, how did you get in?” His head tilted slightly at his question while a friendly smile appeared on his lips. He had no intentions of scaring the boy but if he started running then a chase scene would have to be initiated. ”If you plan to sneak into the academy you always have to make sure to listen to the door before opening it. That way you would most likely have been able to hear my footsteps and find somewhere to hide before getting caught,” he said, raising a finger as if lecturing the boy in front of him.
The boy’s explanation left him… confused to say the least. There was also something about his voice. First thing it had a sort of familiar ring to it yet most importantly it didn’t sound like the voice of a school boy and certainly not a sophomore. Starting to get suspicious, Touya took a step closer in order to get a closer look at the person in front of him. If not for his voice whoever it was might actually been able to fool him with a story like that, after all it sounded plausible. Yet something was off and both his curiosity and sense of duty urged him to find out what it was. ”Why was your bag in one of the teacher’s office? And don’t you think it’s a little late to be doing homework? I mean I could find a lot more interesting things to do if I was you.”
Taking another step closer the moonlight finally fell on his face, showing his white decorated eyepatch as well as all of his facial features that weren’t hidden by his unruly hair. Now Touya could also get a better look at the stranger’s face, which caused him to blink once again before smirking. ”You know, you don’t exactly look like a high school student. Did you perhaps have to retake like five years?” he asked, the smile on his face definitely showing that he knew the man in front of him couldn’t possibly be a student at Chishiki Academy.
Sensing that the other might very soon decide to make a run for it he immediately stepped close enough for him to be able to grab the stranger’s arm and prevent him from making any immediate escape. ”Oh no you don’t! You know if you’d been a student here then I might have let you go, but this changes the situation!”
There was something… off about the shorter male in front of him. Having to look down in order to meet his eyes, he found grey hues looking up at him. He knew those hues. He had seen them before he was sure of it, but where? You didn’t come across eyes like that unless you were around foreigners yet the man did not completely fit into the foreigner category. His bleached hair might have been able to fool him if it wasn’t so obvious that it wasn’t his natural hair colour. But those eyes… they weren’t eyes that he had seen recently. No. It was years ago that he had last seen those eyes. Eyes from his childhood memories. Caring eyes. Hurtful eyes. Eyes of someone very very important to him. Having narrowed his eye while studying the other more carefully, Touya’s eye now widened as his lips formed a name that he hadn’t spoken in years.
”Hayate?”
OoC: Actually, I planned for Touya to first realise that it's Hayate in my next post, but I couldn't resist! |D;; Forgive? Also... this is loooooooong! Hope you enjoy it anyway^^;; Word Count: 1278

Like he didn’t know to listen at the door! It was so elementary. Perhaps that’s why his grip on the satchel tightened. He’d neglected to do something painfully basic, and he was paying for it. The lecture was warranted, and it pissed him off. This guy probably knew that. He probably knew that he’d just ruined someone's evening and was savoring the moment, dragging it out for the sake of watching his victim squirm. He was the twisted house cat, and Rin was the mouse caught between his cruel claws. Or at least that’s how Rin felt as his shadowed antagonist asked him a perfectly valid question. Yes, why would a student's bag ever be in a teacher's office? The obvious answer was “tutoring” combined with a side of "forgetfulness" but Rin wasn't about to jump to answer questions if he didn't have to. And apparently the guy didn't much care about answers, anyway. "I mean I could find a lot more interesting things to do if I was you."Rin blinked once. Was... was he coming on to him? Still slowly stepping along the wall, Rin's eyes narrowed just so, and he scrutinized the man when he stepped into the pale light. Long dark hair, vaguely effeminate features, and from what could be seen, the edge of an eyepatch. He wasn't bad, and it wasn't as though Rin was insulted, or even displeased with a little flirtation. It just... it seemed so easy. Too easy. Mr. Dark, Pretty, and Piratey was smirking at him, and any sane man would be suspicious. Prospective customers didn't just show up in these situations, and there had to be a nasty catch waiting for him somewhere behind that one, predatory eye. Inch by inch, Rin neared his escape route, and point by point, the man talked through his dissection of the ruse--not so much because his brain didn't have a silencer, it seemed, but more to rub a liar's face in the truth. Taking the other's knowing smile as a cue--the same smile that pressed in far too close--Rin made a break for it. He'd have slipped by, right between the wall and his enemy, then rounded the corner and disappeared like some glamorous cat burglar. He'd punch the sky and flip through damp bills to count his earnings a second time; yes! No. The hand came down on his arm, on the palm-wide blemish by which he'd been yanked around earlier, and before he could bite his tongue, a shout of protest ripped from his mouth. He was all but shoved against the wall, with his loaded satchel squeezing against his side. The man had pushed in so close, and the newly secured grip made sure to complicate any escape plan. Then again, after his wince, Rin didn't much look in peak condition to try running away. Plan A was a bust, but Plan B was always pretty solid, particularly if this person was as lecherous as Rin assumed him to be. Through the nose, the young man exhaled slow. Inwardly, he shifted gears, flipped a switch and pulled a lever to make his bodily puppet dance to a different tune. He lifted his chin to meet that prying eye as, mentally, he rehearsed the words perched at the tip of his tongue, the action waiting to be unleash-- "Hayate?"The name. The voice. Combined with the stare of an eyepatch's painted dot, it was but a flash. A hospital room. A bouquet of wildflowers. An instant that ended with Rin fluttering his eyelashes. He was dazed, startled, but who wouldn't have been when that name--that fucking name--was thrown so carelessly? "Tch." It was a fluke! A temporary distraction, because this jerk had confused him in the oddest coincidence. No, actually he was hearing things; the name hadn't been said at all. But, imaginary or not, it might as well have been a spell to freeze all the blood in his veins. At least the adrenaline made it easier to move his sore body. He still had a job to do, and his free hand snatched the man's collar, dragging him down with a rough tug. "Look, kitty. I'm not a student, and you're damn right that changes the situation. But, please, let's avoid us some rash stupidity." There was no need to run and get those nasty police involved. No reason to launch an investigation and uncover the intruder's means of entry. Nobody had to be put out of a job--or a client. Why, such antics would blow this splendid opportunity! Rin's unblinking stare flashed with its own knowing edge, and his white-knuckled grip made it all too clear that the tables were turning. He had no intention of letting this fish go, and the nervous, almost sweet facade had long gone. Without reservation, Rin pulled the man closer still. He caught a faint whiff of strawberry, and he was sure this person could smell his after-duty mix of vanilla, sweat, and cigarette smoke. He smirked, turned his head to hover their lips dangerously close, and murmured, "Why don't we grab ourselves a little privacy and..." His tone sunk lower to pick up a warm, sultry sound: "... discuss this like grownups?"[/style][STYLE=background-color: 2f2f2f; width: 430px; color: 2f2f2f;] . The way he had been utterly misunderstood eluded Touya’s mind completely. Instead his thoughts were occupied with a much more important matter that happened to demand all of his attention. This was Hayate! There was absolutely no doubt about it! The way the man in front of him suddenly seemed to pause in his actions when he had spoken the name was all the proof he needed. Hayate was standing right here in front of him in flesh and blood almost as if he’d always been there and never actually disappeared. He had to admit that if he had simply passed him on the street he would probably not have noticed that it was his old childhood friend walking by. He had changed so much and yet so little and finally having found his old friend made Touya’s heart skip a beat of joy. His smile widened of genuine happiness and he was about to speak again when a forceful tug brought him right back to reality.
He blinked sharply in confusion, not understanding the sudden rough treatment that he was given. Kitty? Looking into Hayate’s eyes nothing like recognition seemed apparent in them, rather he looked like a cornered animal, dangerous and ready to defend his territory. He didn’t remember him? It shouldn’t have come as a surprise. Touya had changed as well during the time that had passed since the last time they had seen each other. He wasn’t as tall back then and his hair had been short as well. How could he expect to be remembered? His special eyepatch could have been seen as a solid proof of who he was and should have brought some kind of recollection with it, though it wasn’t unlikely that all those years had washed the image of it away from Hayate’s memories. Maybe he simply wasn’t worth remembering?
”You’re getting in the way! Stay the fuck away from me! I hate both you and you’re drawings!”
”I hate you!”
The old pain flared from the scar in Touya’s chest once again as the words ‘hate you’ echoed in his mind. He had thought that he had recovered from it but this encounter brought back all of the emotions from back then once again. The worst day of his life. Only the incident where Hajime had stolen his paintings managed to bring forth a similar emotion, yet it was still far from what he had felt back then. He couldn’t blame Hayate for it. No. Touya was the one at fault back then. He could only hope that the years would have made Hayate able to forgive him just a little.
Being brought even closer, Touya was even now unable to quite get the hinting behind Hayate’s choice of words. Had he not had his attention focused on old memories it might have been different. Instead he gave Hayate a somewhat pained smile as he answered his suggestion. ”If you give me a good luck kiss then I don’t mind going with you. We probably have a lot of things we need to discuss anyway.”
Pushing away the painful memories from his mind, Touya once again smiled at Hayate genuinely. If he didn’t remember who he was then he just had to remind him, right? ”Hayate it’s me, Touya. Tou-ya! You know? We used to be childhood friends, remember? You, me and Toru! We went on adventures together and found treasures.” Surely Hayate would remember something like that? He just had to be reminded! Without any second thoughts on the matter, Touya suddenly wrapped his arms around the smaller male and brought him into a tight embrace, whispering softly ”I finally found you.”
Holding Hayate like that in his arms gave him a sense of security. As long as he held him then he wouldn’t be able to run away from him again, and he was afraid that if he let go then Hayate would try to escape from him. Still there was something… strange. Maybe it was the smell that was seeping in through his nose, lingering there and reminded him of something that seemed completely out of context. For a moment he had closed his eye, but now he opened it again while his eyebrow arched as if he was pondering where the smell was coming from and why it was there - that specific mixture of different smells that he had certainly been familiar with not too long ago. A mixture of smells that all combined into one particular smell. The smell of sex.
He felt something stick to his cheek that was pressing against Hayate’s hair and moved a hand up to try to wipe it off. Feeling it stick to his fingers now instead, he brought his fingers into view, spotting a white and slightly transparent substance there. As if not completely convinced yet he went as far as to move his fingers to his nose in order to smell it. Semen.
With a loud cry of surprise Touya let go of Hayate and immediately started trying to wave off the semen from his hand, looking at Hayate in disbelief. ”You had sex here?!” Since the semen hadn’t completely dried yet and considering how… fresh the smell of sex was on Hayate he had to have sexual intercourse with someone just recently. Suddenly his eye darted a look at the door that Hayate had appeared from. He was in there? The man, whoever it was, that Hayate had had sex with was in there? He couldn’t believe it! His sweet innocent Hayate had sex with someone?! Not actually wanting to have the truth of it punch him in the face by going in to check who it was that Hayate had let touch him like that, Touya instead grabbed Hayate’s wrist and started to drag him with him towards the toilets.
”We’re going to the toilets. You have to… clean yourself a bit,” he said, his words causing his cheeks to flush red. Not only did Hayate need to clean himself, Touya needed to get that semen off his fingers. The fact that he had some stranger’s semen on his hand and one that had been with Hayate caused him to shiver. Had he had a napkin he would have wiped it off immediately though with a lack of better alternative he had to put up with it until they reached the toilet. The topic of sex was far from new to him but when it was combined with a childhood friend that he hadn’t seen in a very long time it all ended up feeling very awkward. Now that he thought about it, Hayate’s choice of words earlier… had he actually been coming on to him as well?
OoC: Lol seems like Touya doesn't know what it means either ;3 Actually I was afraid that this would end up really short then suddenly BAM it's long again! And awkward situation is awkward ;3 Word Count: 1.124

XDHe was hoping to watch those dark eyes cloud over with lusty consideration, then grin as a bead of sweat ran down the side of the man's face. He wanted to see him squirm a little, just a little, but he was bested yet again. "If you give me a good luck kiss..."Again! The voice. The phrase. It was another flash of that same hospital bed. A hot face and trembling lips. The exhilarating rush of doing something naughty. It was stupid, and his fierce hold around his satchel's strap loosened, then let go altogether. While he persisted to clutch the man's collar, Rin's newly freed hand rose as much as the grip on his arm allowed, and he touched the side of his neck, just to keep himself from losing focus--from slipping off into a land of fantasy. His pulse was racing. He was probably about a second away from shoving his tongue down the other's throat, calling that a "good luck kiss" and then dragging him along. However, this jerk must have seen the negative effect of his words, the pause that they'd induced, and decided to fling more at him. All of it constituted full-blown warfare. Hayate, he said with the most twisted smile. It was a bullet. Touya, he insisted, he explained, and Rin was forced to think about the last time he'd really heard the name. An argument. One yelling. One crying. It was a sledgehammer. The undeniable recognition struck him like lightning, and Rin thought he might faint. He thought he could already feel his eyes edge back to stare inside their sockets, but he was still very much gawking at this man--this Touya. With the painted eyepatch. Clear as day, or rather, yesterday. That's how clear it was that this was a nightmare. A damn fucking nightmare. He wanted to faint and wake up... somewhere else, anywhere else, but he was still standing there, fully conscious and arms had coiled about him like snakes, trapping him in this terrible moment, pressing against--no, strangling--every tender part of his body and soul. This reunion was real, and two worlds that never should have collided just did. Instinctively, Rin wanted to run away. This... this thing required time alone, time to think, to make educated choices about how to handle it, and his grip on the collar was lost. However, any idiot knew that he couldn't just run and come back when he was more prepared. Time stopped for no man, and he had to work. He had something to do... right? As if Touya himself just realized the sheer awfulness of the situation, he let out a resounding cry, and that, combined with his own earlier shout, brought Rin to wonder if someone else was on his way to investigate. He found himself let go of, and tossing his arm into an angle, he hooked his satchel as it slipped from his shoulder. From his catch, Rin--wide-eyed and fearful--looked over to watch Touya frantically wave his hand and look at him as if he'd just sprouted several horns. He thought again about just running away and letting these sleeping dogs lie, but when Touya turned his attention to Sensei's office, he was reminded of precisely why he was stuck here. That door couldn't be opened no matter what, and a fear of skeletons rising out of his closet had to be just about the dumbest reason to lose his head. He had wanted to run away with his tail between his legs because of one stupid coincidence, and the sheer idiocy of such a thing punched him in the gut. A woman would lose her head like that, a child would, but not him. He was better than that, and he could handle this. The shock, it was wearing off. It was only temporary, had only happened because these things were so unexpected. But it was okay, and as if the universe sought to compensate for its cheap shot, Touya had shifted gears. They were heading to the restroom together, exactly as Rin had wanted, except he was the one being dragged along. Trying to keep pace at Touya's heels, Rin jerked his bag's strap up over his shoulder and took care to breathe deep since he had the fleeting chance. There was a very simple way out of all of this. He knew that, and it wasn't so hard. It was exactly what he'd been doing, and bloody hell, it was the easiest thing in the world... *** Inside the room, it was dark as sleep, but a flick of the switch illuminated the white tile and dark stalls, casting a warm yellow light that made it much easier for two people to see each other at so late an hour. With a thunk, Rin shut tight the bathroom's wooden door. He kept his back pressed to it, firm like he was willing to fight to stay there, and he let his satchel plop down beside him, the metal rungs of its strap clicking against the tile. He ran his tongue over his lips and again felt the swollen split on the lower one. He caught a twang of blood, fainter than it'd been before, but still there. The deer-in-the-headlights look had faded from his features. Protected by his recovered safety line, he felt much more composed, and dragging a hand down over his jaw, he looked over Touya's neon cheeks. He was probably just as startled, as horrified, but neither of them had to be, and knowing that, Rin made sure to speak first. "Okay, Ki--Touya." The name tasted sour. "I'm really sorry about all this. It can't be fun for you, doing this kind of stuff for a living, but before you get all sentimental again..." His eyes froze to steel. "Don't."Bending down low, Rin turned to dig through one of his bag's two larger front pockets. There was the sound of crinkling plastic, as if he had to sift through a thousand individually wrapped candies before he finally pulled out a laminated card. He smirked to himself, proud, and passed his driver's license off to the other man as he made his way over to the sinks. "My name is Rin, and yes, you seem to have caught me in a rather... sticky situation--no pun intended--but I think we can sort this out." Simply giving away personal information suggested a firm belief in that. He twisted on the tap, just enough to get a steady stream of water going, and glanced over to make sure Touya was looking the card over. He had to be checking the name, the age, the random birthdate, everything that discredited what was now his silly little theory. Nothing more. It had to be the biggest relief, right? Rin cupped his hands under the tap, letting the water pool before tilting his head back and pushing it cleanly through his snow-colored hair. He smiled, the cool water dripping down his ears and neck. "I thought you'd lost your mind for a minute there!" A laugh, like they were little more than kids that'd spooked each other in the moonlight. "You know, and then I was going crazy, too. I mean, that's some scary shit, you know?" Being the first to step into the bathroom, Touya made sure to turn around and switch on the light. The sudden brightness caused him to narrow his eye, for a moment almost being blinded. Taking the necessary time to have his eyes adjust to the light he finally turned to look at Hayate, who in the meantime had closed the door behind them. Whatever doubt he had had left in him was blown away. This was Hayate. There was no doubt about it. Looking at his features, the way his lips curved, the shape of his cheekbones, his eyebrows and most importantly his eyes were all proof of the fact that this had to be him. He looked exactly the way he had imagined he would when he had grown up, and Touya was certain of it. As a child he had studied Hayate and his face in much detail and when he wasn’t drawing clouds he liked drawing the face of his close friend. Even today he would draw him from time to time.
He gave him a warm smile, then feeling the pressing matter of that… sticky substance on his fingers he approached the sink and started scrubbing it off. He wanted to get it off and that couldn’t happen fast enough! He still found it hard to imagine Hayate in there in that room together with… someone he didn’t know. Or maybe he did? Urgh, he didn’t want to think about that. Hayate had grown up and it shouldn’t surprise him that he had already lost his virginity. But that wasn’t important. What was important was that they had now finally reunited and though Touya didn’t expect that Hayate would share his happiness then he wouldn’t give up.
Finally satisfied with his fingers he reached out and dried them in a towel then turned to face Hayate. He was about to speak once more but before he managed to open his mouth, Hayate cut him off. The cold look in his eyes caused him to flinch and he froze to the spot, not daring to interrupt Hayate in his speaking. It reminded him of that time. Those cold eyes. The only difference was that though they were cold they didn’t seem filled with hatred. Not like they were back then.
He followed his movements with his eye, watching him rummaging around in his satchel and not really understanding what he was doing before Hayate triumphantly pulled out that piece of laminated paper. Still not quite understanding what was going on, Touya accepted the piece of paper as it was handed to him, giving Hayate a questioning look before he glanced down to study what he had been given.
The name ‘Takahashi Rin’ burned its way into his eye.
It took a moment to actually sink in that this was a driver’s license that he was holding in his hand. Looking at the picture it was obvious that this license belonged to Hayate, but the name was different. The age was different. The birthdate was different. Everything was different. This small otherwise insignificant piece of paper was laughing at him right up in his face, mockingly tearing apart slowly but surely the happiness the joy he had felt from this reunion despite the anxiety that it had brought with it as well. ”No way…” he whispered, without realizing that he had spoken.
Not Tsukino Hayate.
But Takahashi Rin.
Did fate really despise him so much that it had to give him hope for then to crush it again right away? What had he done to deserve this? No. That was a stupid question. It was his fault that Hayate had run away. It was his fault that Toru had nearly drowned in that river. It was only naturally that karma decided to punish him like this.
His hands were shaking and so was the rest of his body. From somewhere far away he could hear Rin’s voice as a mumble, not able to comprehend what he was saying to him or paying it any attention. Time was standing still and realizing that he had been holding his breath, Touya breathed out and took in a new breath of fresh air. How could he have been so wrong? Was he wrong? Was this some kind of sick joke that someone was playing on him? Seeing that name on the driver’s license wasn’t a relief at all.
It was a nightmare.
Touya was shocked. Though his mind kept telling him that he had been mistaken his heart refused to give in to the truth. Slowly he raised his gaze from the driver’s license and instead focused it on Rin, who seemed to have cleaned his hair while his thoughts had been occupied elsewhere. ”If you’re not Hayate then why did you pause?” He wanted to know yet also knew that he was foolish to ask. What did he expect him to say?
”No… I’m not feeling too good at the moment…” That was underestimating it. Looking Rin in the eyes his pained smile turned apologetic, while a knot formed in his chest. ”I’m sorry I definitely thought that you were him. I mean you look exactly like him. You wouldn’t have to have a younger brother would you?” he asked, then laughed at the foolishness of his question.
”I’m sorry. Hayate is a dear friend of mine. Though he hates me. Haha that’s a bit ironic isn’t it? I really just wanted to see him again and apologise. It’s not like I’m expecting to be forgiven. But if I could just see him again and confirm that he was alive, healthy and happy with his current life then that would be enough. Of course I would love to have things return to the way they used to be, but I know that might be asking for too much. I’m sorry… Rin.” He had to force himself to speak that name. It sounded so wrong. It was wrong! Hayate was the only name that truly fitted him.
He was smiling, trying to hide the hurt he felt inside but most likely failing at it. He felt tears pressing at the corners of his eyes but he refused to let them go. He had cried too many times as a child and now he was a grown up. There was no use in crying. In the end it wouldn’t help anything.
He returned the driver’s license to Rin, longing to get rid of it. ”You should finish cleaning yourself up. I’ll be waiting outside for you to finish,” he said before turning around and opening the door. Before leaving he looked at Rin over his shoulder, giving him a small smile. ”I’ll refuse to believe it even though everything is working against me. You are Hayate. Maybe if I believe in it enough then it will turn out to be the truth.”
Finally leaving the bathroom, Touya closed the door behind him and covered his healthy eye with his hand. He wanted to optimistic. He wanted to return to his usual self. He knew that he would be able to in the morning if he could just have a little time on his own. For now he just had to deal with the situation the best he could.
”I have to inform the headmaster…”
OoC: Hmm.... I can't say that I'm completely happy with this... *sighs* oh well I don't feel like redoing it later. Stop acting like a kid, Touya! Word Count: 1.222

Panic could still lurk in the mind's shadows, waiting to strike him down again, and he could still loathe how this man had become the nastiest of obstacles. Knowing that this man was also Touya, it hurt to call him by name and it seemed suicidal to think about being anywhere near him. Even so, that same identity made Rin care. About wellbeing. About feelings. He cared, as much as he could care--he was doing this purely because he cared--and it was funny how he couldn't bring himself to delve any deeper into it. The feeling was just there, taken for granted like youth, and it was unsettling to watch Touya's whole body tremble, to so catch him standing in a world all his own, as though his spirit had gone on vacation. Rin made the connection. That'd been him a few minutes ago, sans the shaking, but... The agony. The dread, the everything. It had to be identical. They were both in the same boat, out in the middle of an acidic ocean and neither had a paddle. Really, when the alternative was turning water by hand and getting themselves burned irreparably, it was infinitely better to pretend they weren't in the boat at all. Touya had to understand this, even if only on a subconscious level. Rin continued to think, water again pooling in his hands: it didn't have to hurt. He hunched forward, drawing his damp shoulders in, and splashed the water on his face. The chill temperature dealt him a pleasant shock, and abruptly, he felt wide awake. He reached for a fresh towel and dabbed gently at his cheeks. His attention was on the mirror, on himself looking a wet and battered schoolboy, and speaking smooth, he decided he looked nothing at all like Hayate; he wasn't that person, "I paused because you scared me, silly." He set the towel aside and studied his hair, no longer dripping and still so far from perfect, but a bit better. It looked like he'd mishandled some hair gel was all. "It's not often that I get mistaken for someone else. It's weird, huh?"From over his shoulder, Rin tossed a glance at Touya and wished the other man didn't look so hurt. His smile was pathetic, and although Rin smiled brighter to make up for it, he shook his head at the question of a younger brother. He could at least appreciate Touya's peppered-in apologies. They were for confusing him with another, but Rin liked to think them regrets for making him freeze up. It was kind of rude to turn him into a fish out of water, if only temporarily. While Touya elaborated and shared background, Rin pretended that he was a stranger to which it was all news. Hayate was a friend, now? Things had gone south; how sad! He felt safer, but try as he might, he couldn't escape the ache. He hates me, Touya had said, and he expressed some inane desire to apologize to his friend. Rin remembered feeling as if a sledgehammer had hit him, right in the heart, and now he was pretty sure that that's what they called fear. Touya... Fucking idiot. At the final apology, Rin nodded, happy to hear his name, "Hey, don't worry about it..." He stretched an arm up over his head, trying to be casual, and inadvertently reminded himself of his own soreness. Touya's smile remained weak, and he looked no less fragile than a glass figurine, but clearly, he was hanging in there. As far as Rin could tell, the guy was better off feeling this small, disappointed sting than a couple stabs of truth. Truth. No, that wasn't right. He was Rin. So... he wasn't really lying, was he? It'd have been cruel to say otherwise and to mislead Touya. To make him think he'd found someone precious only to later share the sick joke time played on people, it was inexcusable. Why, that was the very worst thing he could do. Rin took back his license with a word of thanks, himself slipping into a distracted state as he stepped over to pull his bag aside and shove the card into the appropriate pocket. Inwardly, he was assuring himself that he was right. It was a gift to let Touya keep his idealized memories, to give him the freedom to keep envisioning his friend as someone... different. Better. If Touya only knew, he'd thank him. In his half-listening haze, Rin watched the man at the door, as he persisted in his irrational belief. You are Hayate. The words stung. He wasn't Hayate--he'd never been Hayate, and that'd always been the problem, hadn't it? Rin blinked, strap wrapped around his hand, bag slumped next to his leg, and he realized that he was alone. Touya had slipped out, and he hadn't even come close to doing what he'd initially snatched the man for. The spy--the only person that could rat him out and ruin him over this--well, he was no longer under Rin's watchful eye. But that was just because he was being polite, right? Letting him change in peace, except... even cops handed out friendly conversation to placate a felon and get his guard down. Rin flinched. He... had he just been conned? "Clever bastard," he spoke somewhere between a hiss and a whisper as, in a frenzy, he untwined his hand from the strip of leather and kicked the bag away. He made a run for the door, a fire burning in his eyes as he yanked the heavy thing open. "Oh, no you don't!" Perhaps it was that passion that gave him the strength to grab the back of Touya's shirt. He had the garment bunched into his hand, a grip like iron, and with it, Rin made to snap him right back inside. Volume lowered, he reported simply, seriously, as he spun his catch to face the stalls, "We haven't discussed anything yet. And, believe me, Kitty, it's far more important to keep my ass out of prison than to get clean."Rin fell, back first, to shut the door a second time, and still clutching the shirt, he pulled Touya with him. His twiggy arms wrapped around from behind, entrapping with a close embrace, and his wrists crossed over in front of the other's hips. His body protested, to his rush of taxing action as well as the pressure of being sandwiched between a door and someone else. He was panting, irritatingly exhausted after something so simple. Yet, having Touya in his clutches was all it took to soothe, and he resumed with benevolence, "It's a real bummer I'm not your friend, I get that, but obviously, I'm in desperate need of a favor." Lifting his head high, Rin managed to hook his chin just over the crest of the taller man's shoulder. He turned towards an ear to murmur gently, "So what's it going to take to keep you quiet, hmn?""Fooling around," as he could call his behavior, was no big deal, not really, but trespassing? At Chishiki? The parents wouldn't tolerate any less than the full one-year stint. He'd be pulverized, and what was far worse, he'd need a new name, new everything, once he got out. Such a mark on his record was inexcusable. "The callboy caught at the boy's school." It'd keep him out of polite company, because only lousy street whores got caught. This was life or death. Yes, he had to call the headmaster. If he wanted to be a decent employee at Chishiki Academy then he would call him right this instant and inform him of the intruder. Actually, he should already have done that when he first caught him outside of the teachers’ office, yet he had chosen to wait in the hopes that the one he had found was his precious childhood friend Hayate. Heck, he would have gone as far as to let him go without telling anyone, except Toru of course, about their encounter. The headmaster didn’t have to know. Not if it was Hayate. Still the man had claimed to be a Takahashi Rin instead and in the end it left him with a bit of a dilemma. He wanted him to be Hayate, but was that excuse enough to not call the headmaster?
He had already pulled out the cell phone from his pocket yet the contact he had found in it wasn’t the headmaster. It was Hajime. Why had he now of all times found the number to his old ex? In a different way than Hayate, Hajime had hurt him as well the day that he had decided leave him and take some of his beloved paintings with him as well. Still while they had been together the man had been gentle and loving, always mindful of his feelings and doing his best to always be there for him. He had supported him and shared his love for art. He had given him comfort and it was some of that comfort that he was missing right now. Care and comfort to heal a broken heart.
It hurt. Even though he tried not to think about it he was still hurting deep inside. Yet again the words ‘hate you’ resounded in his head and he clutched his chest with his hand as if trying to squeeze out the pain and take it away. ”Pull yourself together, Touya. This doesn’t mean that you have to give up!” he scolded himself in a low whisper, making sure that the man on the other side of the door did not hear him. Again he looked at the display of his cell phone, reading Hajime’s name there. This was pathetic. He shouldn’t call him. Even if he did there was no guarantee that the man would even care about him enough to even respond to his call. But if he did… Touya shook his head, mad at himself for even thinking the thought. Even considering to call that man in the first place. If he had to call someone to help calm himself it would have to be Toru.
But calling Toru and sharing this experience could turn out to be a wrong move as well. Telling Toru about this might only rip open old wounds. There was no need for the both of them to feel hurt, even if it would end up helping his mood a little. Not because Toru would feel hurt, but because he was certain that Toru would try cheering him up a bit. He sighed. No, Toru wasn’t an option either. This only left him with doing his duty and calling the headmaster like what he had initially considered to do. But before he even managed to enter the number he heard the door open behind him. Feeling his shirt getting grabbed from behind, Touya found himself getting yanked inside with more strength that he would have given the smaller male credit to have.
He stumbled and almost fell backwards and on top of the man behind him, but miraculously managed to keep his balance though that was only thanks to Rin. It was as if he had thought that Touya wanted to get away from him with the way he spoke and acted, leaving Touya little time to think and wondering just what in the world was going on. Only seconds later Touya found himself looking at the sinks from almost the same position that he had looked at them earlier, though only this time Hayate wasn’t in front of him washing himself but had instead positioned himself behind him, blocking his way out. Kitty?
Touya had intended to ask him what exactly he wanted to discuss with him but before he could he found himself once again falling backwards against the now closing door with Hayate in between. Much to his surprise arms were wrapped around him and held him tightly against the other as if Hayate genuinely didn’t want to let him go. That was… he wanted him to stay? Was he ready to admit that he really was Hayate and wanted to apologise for lying to him?
Rin’s following words made it clear that wasn’t the case but that he stubbornly intended to keep denying it. His heart sank in his chest once again, but before he could dwell on it too much his attention was brought to something else. The way Rin moved and spoke… there was something rather sensual to it all. His murmur, the closeness, the positions of his hands as well as his lips were all inviting Touya to return the embrace and even take it a step further if that was what he wanted. Embracing Hayate and hold him closely in his arms once again as his friend was something Touya had always dreamed of being able to, but this was something a little different. He felt his heart starting to beat faster as he glanced back to look into Hayate’s grey eyes, the intention in them clear as day. Why hadn’t he noticed sooner? ”You’re… offering to have sex with me?” he asked, still a bit unsure if that was really the case and hoping that he didn’t accidently offend the man with such an accusation, despite how clear his intentions might seem. Those hands on his hips… without much effort they could just slide down slowly, lightly, sensually and…
Without any second thoughts Touya suddenly grabbed Rin’s hands with his own and removed them from his hips, giving him an apologetic smile. ”Sorry, but snowballing isn’t really my thing,” he excused himself, then slid out of Rin’s embrace and turned to face him instead. In all honesty when had to think about the situation then Touya highly doubted that Rin had had any ill intentions with sneaking into the academy at night other than just intending to fool around a bit with someone else. As illegal as that might still be then it was not like he would have ended up intentionally setting the building on fire or perhaps steal the test answers for some of the students there at the academy.
”Besides what about your… eh… partner? I hope that the two of you cleaned up after yourself?” he asked and couldn’t help but cough in the middle of it. Almost to his own surprise Touya found himself considering to let Rin off the hook, and if he was to just let Rin go then he still had to make sure that there wasn’t any kind of evidence of his presence there. Was this because he looked like Hayate or just because he didn’t think that Rin was a bad person?
He scratched his hair thoughtfully, his eye studying Rin’s face and those familiar features. His fingers were itching for a pencil, wanting to capture those very same features and eternalize them on paper. Hayate’s face. If he could then even after this encounter he would be able to look back and compare it to the drawings he had made of Hayate of the past, see the similarities and continue believing in this hope that Rin was Hayate. Either that or be proved that he was wrong, but even facing that danger he still wanted to draw it – to draw him.
”If you go with me to my apartment and let me draw you, then I’ll pretend that I never caught you here. How does that sound to you?” It was a bold move. Though it wasn’t uncommon for Touya to let a stranger into his home, then there was no guarantee that Rin, no, Hayate wanted to take him up on the offer. ”We will have to wait until my shift is over though, which it should be in about an hour. I hope that you have a change of clothes?”

XD"You're... offering to have sex with me?""You said it, love, not me." The smile in those words made it perfectly clear that so much had been Rin's full intention, and treating the spoken idea as an invitation, he leaned into the other's back. He pressed a delicate kiss to an earlobe, and at least one of his hands made to drift down, to brush and clutch. But Touya stopped him painfully short, just as his blood was beginning to stir. The hands that swallowed his were hot, and too weary to wrest himself free, Rin couldn't even try to restore his possessive hold. Instead, Touya and his warmth slipped away as easily as any dream, and disappointment whined in Rin's throat. There was a familiar pang, a need. What a cruel world, to excite him for nothing! Then again, all things considered, maybe it was for the best. Falling flat against the door's sturdy support, his pout was playful, and his comment revealed a quiet surrender, "Pity..." So it seemed he had no choice but to retract his earlier judgment. Evidently, this was not someone of a nefarious nature, a man just dying to pounce on the nearest victim. Well, not in any intimate way. As validated as Rin was sure his original assumption was, a part of him thought it common sense that Touya would never indulge in a deal so unsavory; he was foolish to have tried swaying him. After all! He was Touya, incapable of wishing ill on even a pesky housefly and too honest for his own good. But that thought belonged to a far less practical part of Rin, the same part that liked to romance the idea of perfect strangers living perfect lives, as if there was some corner of the world that magically adhered to childlike ideals. In contrast, the far more realistic side of Rin--the one that knew this twist of fate had been possible all along--was well aware that Touya had likely grown into someone much different, and despite the sting that came with the knowledge, he'd been counting on change to some degree. He'd needed it for his bribe to be functional. Otherwise, what did he have to offer? What could he possibly give this person to have him look the other way? Shut down as he was, the concern was real, and as upbeat as he wanted to be--that is, upbeat for a person effectively holding another hostage--Rin couldn't keep himself from anxiously nibbling at a nonexistent nail. He didn't like the question about his so-called "partner," as hilarious as the term was. It felt like Touya was trying to get a name, or something else to help him identify the offender from within. Stress. Rin wanted a cigarette. However, he'd kicked his bag over by the sinks and wasn't yet ready to leave the door; it didn't feel safe to. Swallowing a thin semi-circle of keratin, he pulled his hand away, looking astounded as if the thing had jumped to his mouth on its own. "My partner isn't important." Rin's dismissal of the unknown party was almost too quick, and he rubbed his clipped nail between the thumb and finger of his other hand. "And we're not animals; of course we cleaned up."Or, well, Rin had cleaned up his things, tossed wrappers and ziplocked toys. Gathering together the scattered paperwork and sanitizing surfaces was the other end's duty. It was a sensible arrangement--tried and true--when hanging around served only to wear out his welcome, and playing a non-fetishized maid was hardly his job. He caught Touya's one, dark eye searching him, and searching the man's face right back--trying to read that thoughtful head-scratching--he anticipated the big question, the direct who were you here for? Internally, Rin already set to planning a counter-question to restore the topic of favors, regardless of what those favors would now be. Servitude? Spying? Saying that he was Hayate? He waited earnestly, eyes round, face open. Friendly, he thought, friendly. Then, when Touya spoke, he defied expectations. He was already on the favor topic, and Rin felt his little shoulders sag as his guard dropped. "Heh." So he'd been wrong. He looked down at his finger, his wetted bangs casting shadow over his face, and he noticed that in his nervous gnawing, he'd made the fingertip bleed a little. His smile bore a hint of wistfulness, or maybe that was just exhaustion flaring up again. "You want to draw me?" The note of surprise aside, the way he held himself seemed no more stunned than if he'd been asked to leave the premises. "That's it?" Maybe some things never changed. Rin weathered the soft, inner glow, the feeling inspired as that impractical part of him painted an obscenely bright picture, a revisiting of what he'd always believed Touya would achieve: artistic success. The thought made him wish that the floor would somehow crack open a gaping maw and swallow him. But, pinching his bleeding finger, he'd stifled the emotional tug and promptly returned to his senses. "It... It sounds just fine!" His jubilation shone, as did the relief that dominated his face when he looked up, beaming what seemed to read: crisis averted! As if he'd never suggested another, more carnal arrangement. "It's perfect, actually. I mean, it's such a late night; it'd be nice to just sit down for a bit. And..." He trailed off as the details came in. He'd still have to wait an hour, and then wait however long a drawing would take. Of course, he had his own nightshift. Ideally, he'd planned to spend the next four hours wringing whatever he could out of the club scene, but blows to the work schedule happened. They were punches that needed to be rolled with, and it seemed this would be one such case. Which was fine. Losing out on one night's pay was certainly better than the alternative. Yes. He could handle this. "I can wait an hour, but I'm going to want us attached at the hip all the while. I'm serious about that, too. For all I know, you security guys get a raise for each person caught." And for all Touya knew, he didn't have a means to make turning him in a double-edged sword. He slipped his red-tipped finger into his mouth, sucking once before shaking it out in the open air. "But you seem nice--different, in a good way. Now that I think about it, that must mean I'm really lucky you found me. And I'm sorry if I... upset you. I'm still kind of nervous; this is just amazingly awkward for me. I mean, in front of such a pretty guy, too. And... Well, anyway, you doing this means the world." Never mind that Rin had flip-flopped from dangerous to cordial at least thrice since they'd met. The spiel was every classic line he could think of to endear himself, and by its end, he adorned the closed-lip smile characteristic to any innocent. It was his intention to be written off as strange, nothing more than someone a little off his rocker and only capable of running incredibly hot or incredibly cold. That probably wasn't too far from the truth, actually. Rin grunted as he pushed off from the door, and working to smooth down his oddly angled hair with one hand, he took Touya's wrist in the other. His grip was a touch too firm, and twittering, he guided the man over to where his satchel lay sprawled in front of the sinks, "Of course I have clothes, Kitty. In fact, it'd be spectacular if you could help me get myself together. Usually, I'd take care of these finer details at home, but if I'm to escort you during your shift--as an understudy?--I'd better look my best. Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea."Still grasping the captive wrist, Rin reached down to lift his bag by its strap, and rising, he made to pass its heavy body over to Touya. The move, he thought, was brilliant. If he had to preen himself, there was no better way to ensure that Touya stayed put than having him actively participate, if only as the equivalent of a table. And if he had to stay put, then maybe this time he'd partake in the good humor. Rin asked, honeyed and hopeful, "If you could hold this up for me?"[/style][STYLE=background-color: 2f2f2f; width: 430px; color: 2f2f2f;] . Touya thought that he had seen disappointment in Rin’s face the moment he had once again, apparently, declined his sexual advances yet that very same expression soon changed into relief with his following suggestion. Honestly, Touya could still clearly feel those arms around him as well as how those hands had slowly started to slide down to his more private area, sending a tingling feeling to his stomach but fortunately he had managed to stop it before it could be taken further than that. This guy certainly didn’t waste his time! When had Hayate changed that much? He remembered how his friend had disliked even getting a kiss on his cheek, but now he was just jumping right into the actual sexual act without any obvious second thoughts. Of course they had been much younger back then but still. Hayate had never liked it when people touched him too much and certainly not during their last year together in that small town.
His timid Hayate… was he being unfair? Expecting Hayate to be just like he remembered him back then? Then again he also hoped that he wouldn’t be exactly like their last encounter. No, he wanted his sweet Hayate. His friend. He hoped, no, he knew that he would still be their deep inside of Rin. If Rin was Hayate. All this thinking and pondering back on forth while trying to look at the similarities as well as the things that were different between Rin and Hayate was slowly starting to give him a headache. This needed time. Was he being too eager? He certainly wasn’t used to thinking about complicated things like this and he knew that he wasn’t smart enough to be able to find an answer immediately – but giving it time he would someday.
But this didn’t matter right now. Or well it did but he would just have to wait a bit with trying to find some more answers and instead just take everything one step at a time. Like with this situation for example. To Rin’s first, probably rhetorical, question he noded and replied, ”Yup, I just want to draw you. That wouldn’t be too demanding would it?”
Raising an eyebrow in amusement, Touya couldn’t help but let a short harmless laughter escape his lips. ”I didn’t even consider that! Maybe I should consider changing my mind and turning you in then,” he asked, giving the blond a wink just to show that he was joking. So Rin was the suspicious kind. He should have guessed that from the way that he had been reacting until now. It was almost as if the tables had been turned a bit. A true detective should still remain suspicious of an intruder no matter how harmless he might seem to be. Maybe he would actually turn out to be a notorious serial killer! He kept laughing for a bit, amused by his own way of thinking yet the look in his visible eye grew distant as the laughter died out. He had often been told that he believed too much in people and was too naïve, but considering the alternative then wasn’t it better this way?
”Well if it will make you feel better then I don’t mind staying close to you, though I highly doubt that being tied together by the hip is practical. You’re not getting rid of me before I get the chance to draw you anyway, so you really don’t need to worry about it. Promise.” The fact that Rin had agreed to allowing him to draw him actually made Touya very happy. In that way he would be able to spend more time with him and hopefully be able to make him admit that he really was Hayate. It didn’t necessarily have to be today, but at least if he came over to his small apartment then he wouldn’t just end up disappearing from him again.
”Well I can’t say that you wouldn’t have been reported if it was someone else who had found you. People like to keep their jobs after all. I’m not sure what you mean about this being awkward, but thanks for the compliment.”
Giving the man a wink still being amused it was as if Touya’s uncertainty and hurting feelings from earlier had completely vanished. They were still there but for now Touya seemed to have successfully managed to focus his attention on something else. He blinked in surprise as he was suddenly dragged with Rin towards the sinks, wondering what the man was up to and if this was what he meant with being attached to him by the hip. He followed him willingly, hoping that at the very least it would make Rin able to relax a bit more. He wasn’t going anywhere after all but you didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that Rin still wasn’t entirely convinced.
”It’s Touya,” he corrected him, then continued, ”I don’t mind helping, what is it that you need me to do?” His question was spoken with a smile on his lips then his eye widened slightly by Rin’s following words. He hadn’t thought about that! ”That would be bad and kind of ironic as well! I mean if they thought that they had ‘caught me in the act’ like I did with you earlier!” This situation meant that he would actually have to end up lying when he ran into his colleague which he was far from comfortable with. But he had promised to help out Hayate and he couldn’t just back out of it now. This was bad indeed. He used his free hand to hold onto a lock of his hair, tugging at it a bit while pondering what he was supposed to say exactly. ”I guess… I could just say that you are a friend. That wouldn’t really be far from the truth either, so it wouldn’t really be lying would it?” His question was followed by a nervous laughter. He really disliked lies even more so if he had to tell them.
When the satchel was held out towards him he simply accepted it with both hands as if it was the most natural thing to do, followed by the words, ”Oh sure! No problem~” Waiting for Rin to start to change he slowly started to realize that it was partly because of that that he had left the toilets to begin with. It wasn’t like he had a problem with seeing him starting to undress, but he had at least wanted to give him the courtesy of being able to do it without having him standing there and watching him through it all. But now he had also said that he would hold his satchel for him, so just putting it down and leaving the room would be quite rude. Though he did say that he wanted me to stay close…
Still in the middle of deciding what to do, Touya’s eye had been drifting and suddenly without warning a hand shot out and grabbed Rin’s hand by the wrist. ”You’re bleeding!” As amazing as it might have sounded, Touya had been too caught up in his own thoughts to actually notice that Rin had bit himself so that his finger was now bleeding. ”You wouldn’t happen to have a plaster in your satchel, would you?” Standing with Rin’s wrist in one hand and the satchel in the other, Touya looked a bit lost. He wanted to try to find a plaster for Rin but he didn’t actually have a free hand that he could use. This meant that he would either have to give up on Rin’s wrist or the satchel, and neither was something that he wanted to do.
Taking a moment to make up his mind, he ended up going with letting go of Rin’s hand and with a short ”Excuse me,” he opened up Rin’s satchel and without further notice started to rummage around in it in a desperate attempt to him something to bandage Rin’s injury with. As he did, however, his free hand suddenly stopped its search as his fingers touched something long and rubber-ish. With a somewhat puzzled look on his face be pulled up the object to examine it, revealing one thick black dildo which did not leave much to the imagination.
”Holy cow!” With his second cry of surprise that night, Touya dropped the oversized imitation of a male organ as if his hand had been burned and took a step backwards in surprise. Always having luck on his side his foot slipped in a puddle of water and he fell backwards. No longer having Rin behind him to catch him in his fall, he fell against the wall and hit his head against it before sinking to the floor, dropping the satchel in his lap in the process as he moved up both hands to cover the spot on the back on his head that had been hit. ”Ouch…”
Despite the pain, he couldn’t help but give the dildo a second glance as it lay there on the floor in all its glory. ”You actually use something like that?! I mean just look at the size of it!”
OoC: Lol now you are making me imagine Rin posing in the nude! XD Also lol I hope you don't mind Touya's findings. Tell me if you do and I'll make changes~ Word Count: 1.539

Satchel taken, Rin undid his uniform's brass buttons, working down their neat line to expose a strip of skin. "Since you're helping me out, I'd say it's true. That's what friends are for. Help."Such a bleeding-heart line, serving to inspire a false sense of attachment. This wasn't about help. It was about mercy, and it was only too important for him to remember that. He was a scientist trying to control that one unstable molecule, a fox trying to trick the hound into letting him go. Yet if Touya thought they were friends, then betrayal was far less likely, and Rin could act the man's very best friend, all without meaning one thing by it. He just needed silence, silence and a night of closeness to guarantee that they shared the secret. Beyond that, there was no room for Touya in his life. There was no bond--not in the present--so his frown was immediate when a hand snatched his wrist and his bleeding was mentioned. He might as well have been told his fly was halfway down, it was so needlessly embarrassing, and although he didn't jerk away, Rin scrunched his features together, as if to ask whether or not Touya had lost his mind. "You mean a bandage? Well, yeah, but..."Such a minuscule amount of blood was hardly worth a second thought. It was life, and he'd be broke if he wasted a bandage on every little nip and tear. Nevertheless, Touya seemed to hold the opposite opinion, and without invitation, he dove right into the satchel's shadowed depths. Rin stuck the offending finger into his mouth, again polishing it with a lick. In the back of his mind, he had an inkling as to what was bound to happen. For sheer practicality, he kept bandages in one of the front pockets, while using the larger body for-- "Holy cow!"A serpentine smirk slithered across Rin's lips, and peeking up, he bit against his finger's top knuckle. Were it not for the knowing sparkle in his eye, he may have appeared almost coy. Oh, dear, what ever is the matter? But clearly the sole mystery was which of his treasures Touya had unearthed, and seeing the dark girthy shape, Rin couldn't have been more pleased. It was a fine specimen, boasting that definitive shape as well as a healthy dose of ribbing. An object of pure pleasure, if he'd ever experienced one. Underneath his uniform, a heat--uninvited but no less welcome--broiled between skin and fabric, and as Touya panicked, Rin turned his smile into something quieter, a little more subtle. He didn't want to delight in his "friend's" misfortune, but he couldn't look away. It was too comic! Based on his reaction, one would think that Touya had never before played with toys. Just pricelessly cute... Rin retrieved his beloved tool, no less casual than picking up a stray stick. He capped a hand over its top and cupped the bulbous base with the other, slender fingers touching in light, delicate strokes as he checked for imperfections. There were no new dents, no glistening wet spots. Ultimately, he was left brushing at invisible dirt when he approached the other. "I've used bigger, and lucky for you, this one wasn't handled tonight." Used things were covered and destined for an extended bath in bleach. However, Rin was sure that one dropped on a bathroom floor deserved just as much of a wash. There was the five second rule saying otherwise, but the more, the merrier. There was integrity to maintain. Standing with one foot on each side of Touya's legs, he joked, "Didn't anyone ever teach you not to go through a woman's purse?" Perhaps about as funny as a limp fish. Rin took a deep, preparatory breath and dropped his sore figure into a crouch. His unbuttoned top flared out, and in stark contrast to the silken black, his torso flashed. White and thin, he seemed as frail as an orchid, yet the assorted bruises--like Jack Frost's blue kisses--mixed with his daring smirk suggested otherwise. He filled his lips with the toy's head, wincing when it brushed his cut, and buried his hands in the satchel balanced atop Touya's lap. Shuffling and groping about, Rin applied a little too much force at the bottom--eyes innocently averted--before pulling out a ziplock bag. He popped it open, holding it with one hand while the other pulled the toy from his mouth and managed to stuff it inside. He caught Touya's eye, the look meaningful as he pinched and sealed the bag with a steady zip. "But let's be serious. You can't do that again. We've made plenty of noise as it is, and honestly." He dropped the covered toy in with the others, then shrugged off his shirt, bundling it up with a roll of his wrists. "You didn't find anything dangerous, so what's there to scream about?" At least they'd moved past his stupid finger. Rin pushed the shirt into the satchel and clucked pity when he focused on Touya's pain. Leaning forward, he slipped a hand back around where the other man had bumped his head. His nimble fingers aimed for a soothing touch, a gentle rub to ease whatever ache had developed, and the familiar phrase slipped only too naturally, "You really should be more careful, Touya."A pause. "I mean... That is what you want me to call you, right? I got your name right? I'm terrible with names, you see." Such a nasty lie. Like any callboy worth his salt didn't know how to keep names straight. "So, personally, I'm partial to 'Kitty'--it just rolls off the tongue--" It didn't taste so bitter. "--but... you know, you're the boss." Nudging Touya's head forward, Rin planted a quick kiss on its top. He could have waited for an answer, a comment, but he preferred to forget the topic and the implication he'd left hanging. Rin gave a final rub, a brush through those long, dark strands of hair, and pushed against the wall's support to stand up. He bounced off, and with a wide, effortless spin, drew himself back before a mirror, like a silver fairy suddenly pulled away by self-fascination. In that spoiled manner, he dismissed the conversation in its entirety. His fingers obsessively pushed through his hair, and his eyes probed the reflection, devouring it in seconds. There was a dimple of scarred flesh just under his ribs, a mark regretfully unaffected by the treatments that'd faded the lines crisscrossing his back and all the other flaws which spoke of used goods. He tapped it, wordlessly reminding himself that there was still at least one thing that needed fixing before smiling back over at Touya. He couldn't ignore his captive company for long. "Could you be a dear and bring that over?" He unhooked the front of his pants, and without so much as batting an eyelash, Rin slid the pair down his hips. The pain in the back of his head throbbed against his skull and though he had been the one to draw the attention towards the black toy on the floor, he didn’t seem to pay much attention to Rin’s answer. At least it didn’t seem like that. Unable to pull his eyes away from the object, the dildo, he didn’t notice how Rin had approached him before the male was finally standing pretty much on top him. Feeling his presence looming over him, Touya’s gaze shifted up to meet Rin’s eyes at the short lecturing speech he was given and he realized that he had been in the wrong, though he had no ill intentions in mind with his actions. In fact he had intended to help out the blond yet in the end it had backfired and now he was the one on the floor hurting.
”You’re not a woman… still I’m sorry, I acted without thinking. I shouldn’t have gone through your belongings without permission.” His smile was slightly pained but nonetheless apologetic. It didn’t manage to hide the growing embarrassment he felt towards this awkward situation. It was almost like he had busted one of his brothers in jerking off to a porn magazine and though it would be a laughing matter afterwards it would still be awkward in the exact moment it happened.
Despite the pain the way the male in front of him had treated this toy of his had not escaped Touya’s attention. Gently, almost like it was a precious treasure that would break just from the lightest of touches, he had caressed the length as if in a world of his own where there was only room for him and his treasure, at least that was how it had appeared to Touya. Even though Touya could somewhat relate to that feeling it still came across as being strange to him to be that affectionate towards a sex toy.
As if this act wasn’t enough the man in front of him decided to take the act a step further. Watching as he dropped down and almost sat on top of him, Touya widened his eye as Rin out of the blue decided to pleasure the toy with his mouth and in Touya’s mind his tongue as well, sitting there and looking as if it was the most natural thing to do in this situation. Unable to take his eyes off him, Touya’s attention was diverted from the pain in the back of his head to the alluring male in front of him.
He was beautiful. Even if Touya had not initially decided that Rin had to be Hayate he now realized that he would have been drawn towards him, if not only just to try to have a conversation with him. Though that fair skin of his was both bruised and – was that scars? - Touya couldn’t help but think of the male as being from another world. Ethereal. Was it only because Rin had turned on the seductive switch? Was it only because he felt attracted towards him? No. It was something more. Still his actions only enhanced the effect.
Sitting mesmerized and unable to move, Touya suddenly gave a slight jump as Rin’s hand in the satchel innocently came just a little too close to Touya’s private area for it to be decent. Had it been an accident or was Rin trying to tease him? With the way the man in front of him was acting at the moment, Touya was inclined to believe the latter yet he decided not to pursue the subject if just because it didn’t really seem like Rin was actually serious about the whole thing. He had been able to brush it off a little too easily, but had still effectively been able to remind Touya that he was just a man and any man could be tempted. At least this time he didn’t have to refuse him yet again, Rin had taken care of that on his own.
Finding himself being lectured once again, Touya simply nodded as if he had understood what the other was trying to say, a strategy that he had frequently used as a child when he had to listen to his teachers. ”Well I didn’t exactly expect to find that in there, so I was surprised.” He unintentionally shivered as he suddenly recalled Rin’s words from earlier, which he had initially ignored. What if the toy had actually been used?! Then he would most certainly have had to wash his hands yet again as if that was the biggest of his concerns.
His thoughts were brought away from this unpleasant thoughts only a few seconds later as Rin’s hand unexpectedly reached out towards him and with a gentleness he had not dared to hope for suddenly decided to stroke that hurting part of Touya’s head. It was… soothing and familiar and instinctively Touya simply closed his eye and dropped his head a bit like a dog wishing to be petted by its master. This was nice! Did this man have magic fingers? Somewhat his rubbing seemed to be the only thing he needed to dull the pain at the back of his neck, and with those familiar words Touya’s eye suddenly darted open as he stared at Rin. Hayate?
How often hadn’t he heard his friend speak that sentence? Back then it had seemed like a daily occurrence and having heard it so often it was almost like a magic spell that would make sure that no matter where he was hurting then the pain would be sure to go away. He didn’t have more time that before Rin attempted to dismiss the words, as if they had been nothing special and instead brought his attention towards the use of his name. ”Yes… that’s my name. And I prefer being called Touya, though I suppose Kitty would be alright now and then. Honestly, I don’t really mind just don’t forget it, okay?”
Hayate wouldn’t forget his name no matter how much he tried to pretend that he had.
Feeling the kiss on his forehead, Touya closed his eyes briefly once again before slowly opening it and watching how Rin pulled away from him, Touya reached out as if trying to stop Rin’s hand from leaving him but he was too slow. Rin was already by the mirror, granting his reflection all of his attention. Touya just remained where he was, watching Rin continuing his work until his help was requested, though his words made Touya just slightly confused. What did he want him to bring him? His satchel? Something inside his satchel? Having learned his lesson, Touya decided that it might be better if Rin just tried to find it in his satchel on his own. ”Ah yeah just a sec~”
Using the wall for support, Touya slowly rose from the floor and got back on his feet with the satchel in his hands. Taking a few steps, carefully avoiding the puddle of water on the floor, Touya now once again stood by the sink and held the satchel out towards Rin, possibly being of as little help he could though that wasn’t his intention.
Watching Rin continuing to undress it might have caused him to become embarrassed once again had it not been for the bruises that were being revealed. Frowning, Touya was once again reminded of the subject that had caused him to end up falling and hitting his head in the first place. ”Seriously you have more?! How do you even get these in the first place? Wait… it’s not that guy from earlier is it?!”
